Email cancelation

I have two virgin email accounts. The first is a virgin.net account that I have had since 1997. The other is a virginmedia.com account that I got when I signed up for  broadband.

Today I got an email to my virgin.net account saying they are cancelling my virgin media email. Which account are they talking about? Are they talking about both? There are no contact details in the email.

I don't use the virginmedia account but the .net is my main account and has been for nearly thirty years. I can't lose that.

"As you no longer have Virgin Media services, your Virgin Media email address will become inactive. We’ll close your Virgin Media email account in 30 days, which means you won’t be able to access your inbox after that and contents of your account will be removed and permanently deleted."

There's a steady stream of posters on here who have found that 'sooner or later' happened the day before.

  • Just in case all the contacts/logins/accounts that use the virgin.net email have now been updated to something else. I was the first person at work to get home broadband, with virgin, (256kbs which was fast in those days) and this address always served as a reminder of that. Waste of a morning but better than being cut off in my prime.

All the answers here seem to relate to people with old accounts who are not sure if those accounts are still valid. That is not the case with me. I have a fully active Virgin broadband account and have received one of these emails saying that as I no longer have any Virgin media services, my email will be cancelled in 30 days. There is something wrong here.

If you start your own topic in the 'Email' forum a member of the VM forum team will reply (usually within a few days) and will let you know what is possible ref the email address you want to keep.
