Cannot access NTLworld Email

I have an NTLworld email account, it worked fine on Sunday. It is now saying my password is incorrect and won't accept my email to forget password. I have never had a Virgin account (broadband, telephone etc.) always Email only. The help service is useless and the phone automated system. I have far too many important things on that email just to lose it. What can I do?!

If you are not currently a paying customer for VM broadband, it is possible your email address has been deleted. See

    https://community.virginmedia.com/blog/Digital-life/some-important-information-if-you-have-a-virgin-media-email-account/5607207

In recent months VM has been clearing out mailboxes not linked to an active VM broadband service.

How did you come to gain use of a ntlworld email address in the first place?

  • I hope not. With no prior warning to give me time to change EVERYTHING over.. i created the email over 18 years ago. My parents had NTLworld email also so i followed suit. I will be furios if they have deleted it. Year and years worth of accounts with no recolection of which ones i would need back!😡

Hopefully you will have kept offline copies of all the important contacts and data. Free emails are for exchanging messages, they were never intended or promised as a permanent filing cabinet.

  • When your 10 years old and make the email funily enough it doesnt state that! 😡

      Hi jordanrudge1,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, we are sorry to hear your email has stopped working, for you to have an NTL World email this would have been assigned to an account or created as an additional email, if the account where this originated/ was registered is no longer active then unfortunately there is little support we can offer, when an account is closed we do advise that the email can be deleted around 90 days later, in some cases these have remained active and have recently been deleted, apologies if you were unaware.

      Regards

      Paul.

  • This is why im confused. As it has only ever been an email account and only ive had access. So whos account has it been assigned too? This needs to be sorted, your phone lines are useless and i need access to that email. So if you could look into this for me as i need a definitive answer with some actual help in solving this matter.

In an earlier post you mentioned that your parents had an Ntlworld account.  Could your email have been setup under their account?

Hi jordanrudge1 thanks for your reply here.

For all Virgin Media owned email accounts (such as NTLworld, Virgin.net, Blueyonder and Virginmedia.com), we did send emails to all customers impacted that didn't have an active attached Virgin Media account to their email address, warning them of the de-activation of these email addresses.

If your account is not associated with an active Virgin Media account, it means it is "orphaned" and any orphaned accounts will have been closed down in line with our terms and conditions.

We're really sorry but if yours is orphaned as it seems, we'd be unable to reactivate this for you.

      Many thanks
