You will need to generate an app password for use with your wife's ntlworld email address. You do this via the My Virgin Media page for her address not your own email address. See this help page: https://www.virginmedia.com/help/broadband/manage-email-account specifically the section regarding adding Email address to a device.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for your reply, unfortunately my wife doesn’t have a VM account and I can’t see where to add her to my account. I’ve tried to set her up on MyVirginMedia but it says I already have an account and there’s nowhere to add another

awr1946 Every secondary email address has its own My Virgin Media account by default. You will need to sign out of the primary account and then sign in with the Ntlworld email address concerned and the current password for the address. You should then see the options to change password and generate an app password. The process will also require the username for the Ntlworld email address to be changed to a third party email address. This does not affect the underlying email address only the way that it is accessed.
If you get a message to say that the Ntlworld email address is not recognised when you try to sign in with it then the VM Forum Team will be able to investigate for you.

You can't create a new email account on your MyVm account. It might be possible to move her account across, you'll need to attract the attention of VM person on here to see if that can be done. But there are limitations .
