Blueyonder email problem once again

It seems that every year we get a problem accessing our blueyonder and virginmedia email addresses. 

This time there are numerous posts on here all from people with the same problem. There's no organised response, different people seem to get different advice about what to do. 

The introduction of email ID has been a farce - another password to remember. 

I have the same issue many others have - withour warning I can no longer access my blueyonder email - my main email address that I've used for more than 20 years - on my phone or tablet. I go to MyVirginMedia, go through all the hoops and get to the page where I can generate a new email app password for my Virgin Media Mail account. I generate the new password - 21 characters thank you very much - type it laboriously into my phone only to get "unable to verify account name or password". 

This is so incredibly frustrating. And it seems to happen at least once a year. 

  • If you want reliable email, you need to find another supplier.

    VM stopped issuing new email addresses over three years ago, and since then they have been busy closing down accounts that do not meet their requirements.  They have not given any assurance that VM email will continue indefinitely.

    Many VM users have moved their contacts to another service. You should consider doing the same.

    Happened to my ntlworld account - seems to be radio silence from Virgin about this. I have been able to get to see my account on virginmedia

    But I can't do anything other than see new emails arriving. It's highly worrying

      Hi Sabrina. Thank you for the post and offer of assistance. As with many problems on here, this one seems to have gone away after a week of ups and downs. As mentioned below, I think I need to re-think my use of VM as a mail provider.

      Thank you, I know I need to do this but it's an immense task. I've had this email address for as long as I can remember and it's no mean feat to change all my accounts which reference it.
