Blueyonder email problem once again

It seems that every year we get a problem accessing our blueyonder and virginmedia email addresses. 

This time there are numerous posts on here all from people with the same problem. There's no organised response, different people seem to get different advice about what to do. 

The introduction of email ID has been a farce - another password to remember. 

I have the same issue many others have - withour warning I can no longer access my blueyonder email - my main email address that I've used for more than 20 years - on my phone or tablet. I go to MyVirginMedia, go through all the hoops and get to the page where I can generate a new email app password for my Virgin Media Mail account. I generate the new password - 21 characters thank you very much - type it laboriously into my phone only to get "unable to verify account name or password". 

This is so incredibly frustrating. And it seems to happen at least once a year.

  • Happened to my ntlworld account - seems to be radio silence from Virgin about this. I have been able to get to see my account on virginmedia

    But I can't do anything other than see new emails arriving. It's highly worrying
