Blueyonder email being blocked and freeing space

I have 2 topics. Firstly, all emails from a blueyonder address sent to Gmail accounts are marked as spam by gmail and treated accordingly. Marking them not spam in gmail has no effect on the next email sent from the same address. It is a massive issue and is widespread - recipients don't know an email has arrived as it's ib spam. Are VM talking to Gmail about this issue?
Secondly, deleting emails doesn't recover any storage space even after emptying trash. Inbox is slowly filling up. Any ideas? Is this another VM ploy on the road to ceasing to host emails

On your second point, VM email is intended primarily to exchange messages, as its name suggests. It is not intended as a long term store and VM do not guarantee that it safe for this. Their email server does not keep backups.

If you are running out of space, this suggests that you have a lot of data in there. If you do not have an off-line backup of these messages, you are at risk of losing it all without warning as some unfortunate people have recently found.

Consider refreshing web page to obtain accurate Mail quota value, i.e. press Ctrl+R or Ctrl+Shift+R

Note, messages in Trash folder are:

    • excluded from Mail quota calculation
    • permanently deleted after 7-days
  • Hey DaveR900, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear you are having some email issues.

This is the first we've heard of this Gmail issue, is this every email going to the gmail address doing this?

    Did the above advice help?

Mathew to say this is the first you have heard of this is very disappointing there have been numerous complaints I suggest you look at thread 5618354 where this has been discussed in length and the forum team are supposed to be looking into it.

Why has the discussion posted regarding the gmail issue disappeared from this thread?

My blue yonder is also getting marked as spam by gmail. I've lost the opportunity for a new job role due to it as the recipient didn't see my reply...not impressed.

      Hi there,

We're sorry to hear this is ongoing. We've been investigating this and as it stands, it doesn't appear to be an issue on Virgin Media's end. We are still investigating things though however there is no further update as of yet.

      Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

  • I too am having issues with sending to gmail addresses from blueyonder. It seems that gmail want email addresses to use something called spf or dkim? There is a link here that perhaps the admin on here can read.

Videodoctor1987.  These aspects have already been checked and Virgin Media emails, including the blueyonder domain, already meet all the standards.

        Well the problem still persists.

Gmail is blocking blueyonder due to it thinking that blueyonder is sending spam. It needs addressing between both blueyonder and gmail
