Another ntlworld user locked out of email

As with the many, many other reports on here, I cannot access my ntlworld email account via outlook, iphone. I can still get in for now via a browser.

This is 100% a VM created problem - unless you're suggesting hundreds of unconnected people around the country all getting the same problem at the same time is a coincidence?

What is being done on the VM side to resolve this?

    Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Sorry for any email issues but thanks for letting us know it's a third party email client you're using. Try this please;

    Sign into the My Virgin media account for the email concerned with your VMO2ID
    Select Account Settings
    Select Identity & Security Settings
    Select Manage your products
    Select Manage email app password
    Click on the blue button 'Get New Password'
    Make a note of the generated password. This is what you use in the mail apps along with the Virgin Media email address as the username.

      Hi John,

      Thanks for the reply. I have managed to get into the email but I had to create a gmail account in order to do so.

      But can you tell me why VM are making it so hard to access an email address I've had for over 20 years? It seems like they are abandoning the original email domains - ntlworld, blueyonder etc

      Is that the case?

        It's the only sensible conclusion. They stopped issuing any new email addresses over three years ago. Since they it's become increasingly difficult to use existing VM addresses on all their domains. 

        The remaining number of addresses is steadily decreasing and clearly it will reach the point when they are not worth supporting. 

        You should start the process of moving your contacts to another email service.
