Hi Daniel,
thanks for the reply. I will try to explain my current situation. You may like to grab a coffee... I have one VMO2 login and password, let's call them address 0 and pw 0, which is an independent email address. Using these I can log in to the Virginmedia homepage, and look at my bill, access my account settings etc. This login is linked to my Virgin Media account via its account number and area code. This login is also linked to my primary Virginmedia email address (a blueyonder address in my case), let's call it address 1. I also have two additional email addresses: address 2 and address 3. Each of these email addresses has two
passwords, one which is a traditional password, chosen by me, used for third party emails apps. There has also been a multi-word-list-type password which was used for web mail access, though I wonder if this is now obsolete. Let's say pw1a,pw1b for address 1, pw2a,pw2b for address 2 etc.
From within the VM home page I can follow the email link which takes me to the webmail page. Already set up here is the primary email address 1.No password is requested. I can see also the option to add email accounts which I could presumably use to access address 2 and address 3, but a password is then required. I can also access webmail directly from any of my devices.
I am also able to access address_1 using a third party app and connecting to the servers at imap4.blueyonder.co.uk and smtp.blueyonder.co.uk and using password pw1a.
I can see no way to update the passwords pw1a, pw1b for address 1. When logged in to the Virginmedia home page going to Settings>Virgin Media Mail settings>Security Settings>password> says "You can change your Virgin Media O2 ID password"
Now for the added email address, address 2. I DO NOT KNOW THE PASSWORD(S) FOR THIS ADDRESS, as things got very confused when the VMO2 login was set up. I can only access address 2 using the third party app and the blueyonder servers as described above. Strangely this seems to use pw1a for both address 1 and address 2. (It took a while
to discover this and I don't know if it will work for other apps) I may be able to access address 2 via webmail by adding the account if I knew the correct password. As for address 1 above, I can see no way to reset the password.
In summmary, I am only able to read mail for my added address using a third party app with the blueyonder servers, and a strangely shared password. (At least for as long as the blueyonder servers are in aperation.) This is my main email account and I therefore need to be able to reset the password(s), assuming this will actually solve the problem. Unbelivable there does not seem to be a way to do this.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
