To move or not to move
Hi. For over 20 years VM has been my broadband/phone provider and TV comes from Sky. This has worked okay until we moved in Aug 23 and asked both Companies to connect us to their services at the new property. VM quickly installed broadband via their router and we get a good signal most of the time. The Sky technician, however, said it was not possible to install a satellite dish, but we could have their relatively new puck streaming system that works via the internet, which we signed up to. We have two pucks both about 2 metres from the VM router. The reception is far from consistent from the puck that is beyond what was the original outer wall of the bungalow before it was extended, whereas the other that is on the other side of a stud partition wall rarely has an issue.
As my Sky contract has almost ended, I am considering whether to use VM for both broadband and TV which should be cheaper than having two providers. My question, however, is will I get a better reception on the TVs using the VM 360 box system? When I have asked Sky about the irritating periodic loss of reception, they say it must be the VM broadband that is to blame. The broadband speed, according to Netflix checker varies from over 220mbps to as low as 30. So would the answer be to purchase increased broadband speed (or an ethernet cable connector) and put my trust in VM to provide more consistent TV reception?
Any views greatly appreciated.
