Suspicious call?

Hello, I received an unsolicited call from a person claiming to be from VM who said that my Internet has speed and error problems. She guided me through several apps on my mobile (assist Client, W3C). She had access to all my data (eg monthly payment, bank account). Supposedly she also set up an in-person visit tomorrow to replace a box with a Mr Thomas Green). She then passed me on to a technician who claimed that I receive a 'thank you' refund of £600 and made me log into my bank account (he saw my card code) and tried to get me to set Tap Tap Send to receive this from the Philippines (a certain Mr Benny Tanasain).   I then hung up. Is any of this genuine? How can they have access to all my data? If not genuine, how can I protect my mobile?

If you installed any remote access software onto your device, which allowed the scammer to take control of your mobile, you need to remove that to prevent any further access. Also check for any other rogue apps which the scammer may have installed.

Speak to Action Fraud to report the incident and get further advice. They should give you a crime number which may help you with the clean-up operation.
