I'm not getting email notifications for replies to posts that I have started.
I have therefore changed my email address in case that was the problem.
If anyone would be kind enough to make a simple reply to this post . . .

The automatic link stopped long ago. But if you look at the top of the page there's a small bell icon next to the menu cog, that if you click will follow the thread.

May well be a forum-related problem (one of oh so very very many).
I stopped getting email notifications a while ago. There was a past topic from someone else with the same issue. The forum software is pure junk.
