Are you trying to access the web address by its xx.xx name from your local LAN? If so it will not work on VM hubs in standard router mode.

VM router mode don't support  NAT loopback

You will need to use hub in modem mode with a supported router

  • I think this is unacceptable in this day and age that you cant connect to home network from outside, with the use of a DDNS as far as I know all other companies allow it.

You have got the wrong end of the stick. Of course you can connect to a device on your local LAN from the WAN by using xxx.co.uk or what ever. What you cannot do is connect to xxx.co.uk on your local LAN from another device on your LAN. Of course you have to setup port forwarding. When I have port forwarding enabled on my UDM Pro router I can talk to my 10 Raspberry Pis as well as other devices.

  • Ok after a router reset I can now connect using ip name from outside my lan which is what I want. So if I,m at work I can connect to home PC/network, From inside lan is not an issue. The way Noip2 do it is you install a client on the pc, and it speaks to noip2 and they up date where the ip name points to, as the address changes. There should of been no reason why it didn't work orginaly
