Inconsistent pricing for same service

Not sure where to post this. I’ve just noticed my mobile phone plan provider started offering an internet service. My great surprise is that the service provider is VM and the same deal costs half of what I’m paying now – directly with VM...

I find this outrageous. Obviously as soon as my contract is over, I’m done with them and take the deal over there. Which is quite absurd when you think about it.

The best laugh is that I have nothing against the actual broadband service as over 10 years I hardly had problems and they were quick to respond to those rare outages. But their pricing practice is just disgusting.

    Hi karbon3k

If your mobile phone sim provider is giffgaff then that is owned by VMO2.   They have just started to provide a full fibre broadband service via nextfibre (also owned by VM)

This service is only available in limited areas and not the entire nextfibre network yet.  At present nobody with a VM (or nextfibre) broadband service either current or cancelled is able to receive the giffgaff  full fibre broadband service.

Giffgaff 1initially ran a 12 month trial service open for testing to around 500 customers for a discounted price of £10 per month for a symetrical 500Mbps speed.

Giffgaff aren't currently recruiting anyone else for trials and the giffgaff full fibre broadband service went live on 15th September, and is on a rolling 30 day contract that is actually dearer then VM's broadband service.

Giffgaff are offering three unlimited plans on a monthly rolling (30-day) term, which are naturally much more expensive than their trial prices. The 200Mbps (symmetric) service costs £30 per month, while 500Mbps is £32 and their top 900Mbps tier is £35  (installation is currently free)
