Wifi Pod/Home Power Adaptors

I have 2 power adaptors (operates lamps in my home) which work of 2.4ghz but when I set up my Wifi Pod using the Virgin Connect App it asks me to combine both my 5ghz & 2.4ghz signals otherwise I cannot set the pod up. When I do, my power adaptors, which work my lighting, no longer work ……if I don’t merge both signals and keep them separate the Wifi Pod no longer works. Any help appreciated.

Dump the Pods and get your own network kit.  Or get new smart plugs.

Seriously the Pods only work with the VM Intelligent WiFi so there are no real options

I fully agree, but also uninstall the Connect app from ALL devices in the home so as to halt the pressure to re-merge the SSIDs.

  • Hi philhews1

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

There are a few requirements for the Pods to work with our Hubs:

    •    The Hub must be in 'Router Mode' and not have been changed to 'Modem Mode'.
    •    Channel Optimisation must be left on.
    •    The SSIDs must be the same and broadcast enabled.
    •    The SSID must be password protected.
    •    The Passphrases of the SSIDs must match.

As long as all of the above points are all met then the Pod should automatically connect to your Hub's Wi-Fi and begin broadcasting. The wireless details from the Pod will be the same as the Hub's details, so no additional steps are required to connect the devices in the home.
