WIFI POD NEEDED

Misbah here,

I just got my 1gb Virgin Media Broadband (£35 per month) installed today after a 1 month wait. I use my Playstation 5 everyday and noticed that my playstation is only delivering 60-70mbps when I do a speed test. I am so annoyed that the broadband is not delivering at least a minimum of 500mps (half of what was 'promised' on the package advertisement). I downloaded the Virgin Connect app and says that the connection is 'great' for my playstation but how can this be when not even a tenth of the 1,000mbps is not being delivered. I want to speak to a member of Virgin as soon as possible to discuss when I can a couple pods delivered to my house since I am definitely eligible for a couple free ones.

Someone please get back to me as soon as possible please.

  • Hello misbahg,

Welcome to the Community, and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re experiencing with your connection at the moment.

Are you experiencing issues with any other devices connected to your router? Have you also tried to connect your PS5 to your router via an Ethernet cable, as jpeg1 and Fronty have advised?

    Kind Regards,

    Steven_L

      Hi Steven,

I just got my Wi-Fi pod today. However, I can’t connect my PS5 to my router via Ethernet cable because my router is placed downstairs in my house and my PlayStation is in my room upstairs. Even with the pod connected to my PlayStation via Ethernet cable, I am not seeing any difference in my internet speed and am still experiencing in the 65-75mbps when I do a speed test. I at least want minimum 100mbps per second when I do a speed test on my ps5.

please get back to me as soon as possible :(

VM Pods are like magic mushrooms .... they make your world quite wonderful.

VM Pods are an utter disaster .... even when perfectly placed, speed will be reduced to less than half, latency will be more than doubled, jitter will be magnified & packet loss will be constant, the result being hated by both business users of MS Teams and Gamesters.

But VM Pods are free .... you decide which is the closer description !

If you want the highest speed, buy an RJ45 cable and hardwire your PS5 directly into the hub.

The 1000 Mbps speed is for the broadband to your Hub. You will need an ethernet connection to use most of that.

VM only promise 30Mbps over WiFi.
