WiFi networks keep disappearing

I've been having issues with the wifi networks, both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz on my Hub 5 just randomly disappearing throughout the day. Sometimes it's just one, sometimes it's both. I can sit and leave my phone open on the wifi select screen and just watch them go in and out. I've been able to keep them active from time to time by doing a full factory reset of the router which makes them behave for a few more days but that's not really a viable solution when I have to keep re-doing my port forward and wireless security settings each time.

it is probably something to do with the hub searching for channels. there is a setting in the wifi settings  for 'intellegent wifi' if I remember correct. I think you should try switching that off if it is on and also if you have the connect app in there as well I think. However I would suggest if you set the settings in the APP to remember your wifi set up switch it off and uninstall the app. I had nothing but trouble with the app interfering with the hub 5... and pinhole resets became a nightmare!!!

  • Found the setting, you were close, it's "Smart WiFi". Disabled it and we'll see how it goes. I've never used the connect app before, in fact I didn't even know it existed but from the sounds of it, I'll just stick to using the web interface and not touch it. :D Lets see if that helps.

Try also with fixed Wi-Fi channels.  Auto channel changes can cause random glitches.

For 2.4Ghz best practice is to stick to 1 or 6 or 11 only

For 5 GHz we prefer 36 or 44 - i.e. trying to avoid the higher numbered DFS channels.
