WiFi and iPhones

I have an android phone and rarely have issues but 3 other family members all have iPhones and can be sat with 2 metres of a Virgini supplied WiFi booster but regularly lose connection and end up walking to the man router/hub.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ensure the VM Hub does not have WPA-PSK enabled,
    the Wi-Fi security should be WPA2-PSK or WPA2-PSK & WPA3-SAE.

    Failing this...

Settings to discourage mobiles from dropping Wi-Fi and reverting to the GSM mobile data.

    For iPhones...

    Disable "Wi-Fi Assist"    Ref:https://support.apple.com/en-us/102228

Thank you for your response fearnball11. To confirm, are you asking regarding the WiFi assist and it being on Apple devices?

  • Hi fearnball11,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear that there are iPhone users who are having an issue with the WiFi connection. As it's not happening across all devices, and the ones experiencing the issues have the same device, it's like to be a setting on the iPhone.

iPhones tend to have a WiFi assist which will allow the device to swap between WiFi and Data. If this option is on, it would be best to switch this option off.

Give this a try and let us know how you get on.

    Many thanks,
