White WiFi pod Clarification needed
Hi there,
I've just got a white WiFi pod, plugged it in etc. I've noticed my %Ghz SSID option has disappeared from my list of available networks, 2.4 Ghz is available but the speed is less than I was getting before going to the 250 Ghz Volt connection.
It was showing and was connected until I plugged in the pod. So, does the pod take over and only work on 2.4? If so I'll pull it out as I'm looking for speed as a priority hence the upgrade and then coverage in the flat (multi storey block lots of metal in the frame) with poor reception in the bedroom just a few (say 15 feet away).
I do want to keep things simple. I know it says the pod needs to settle in, but where has my 5 Ghz connection gone to?
Comment appreciated. Thanks Keith
The Pods need a single SSID and the Intelligent Wifi on. If you had made any changes to the default "factory settings" of the Hub, the Pods will not function correctly. So you should only see one SSID and this covers both 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. If you need to, you can reset the Hub as below;
60 second factory pinhole reset as below;
Remove any ethernet cables from the Hub and hold the pinhole reset switch for 60 seconds. Do NOT reboot the Hub, just let it do it's thing. Note you will need the passwords from the bottom of the Hub afterwards, so make sure they are legible. NOTE this will remove any custom settings you may have set in the Hub, and they will all have to be setup again.
