VPN Connection Keeps Dropping Out

I have read numerous articles and discussion acknowledging there is a known issue with Work VPN connections continually dropping out using VM Fibre 1Gb - I have a Hub4.

It is directly connected to my work laptop into Port 1 of the Hub using a Cat-8 Ethernet cable.

This is driving me absolutely insane. Yes I could put in modem mode and buy a decent 1Gb Router but I don't think that as a VM paying customer for the last 20 years I should need to do that.

Does the Hub 5 resolve these issues and can I have one please ?

Please do not tell me as I have a - not fit for purpose - Hub 4 that there is not upgrade path for me, that is not a solution.

Thank you for any helpful advice. Even if it's what 1Gb Router that I should buy and that is compatible with the world of VM.

You can try modem mode with your work laptop and see if the VPN is stable to know its router mode.

Thanks. That is what I said above. Which presumably if you put your VM Router in modem Mode then you have no wifi ? Which is hardly a solution to the problem VM have left us with ?

But if modem mode shows your VPN has the same then the problem is likely not the hub.

A Hub  5 will not resolve a fault with an office VPN.

      Fault ?

The 'fault' is that VPN has problems with Virgin Media Fibre 1Gb Hub4, whereas it does not have issues with other providers. So what are Virgin Media doing to resolve this or what have they done to resolve this, as VPN is a very realistic thing for many many clients who now work from home. It's a fundamental necessity.

What are the options from Virgin Media ?

VPN not connecting at all would be a VM parental controls issue.

But VPNs dropping out is a matter to take up with the IT Support Team,
the VM Hub has no clue what you are doing & it does not care if you send an encrypted web page to the bank or an encrypted stream to your office.

        Another possibility is :

Faults in your street. Try both methods:

Call the local fault line: 0800 561 0061 – this is an automated number.
