Upgraded to 2gig and see ping time outs and youtube buffering?

anyone else facing similar issues?

I've been on XGS for sometime now, had 1000/1000 enquired recently and got 2000/2000 there just feels like something isn't right...

I've been playing games LOL for example and I'll just randomly DC from it, never had issues before the upgrade, youtube now buffers.

my TBB looks fine.

 

seems to just drop connection for anywhere between 4-7ms, enough to D/C from games.

  • Finally, after useless complaints/tech support the executive team was able to get my issue over to someone in the project department who was able to turn off the auto speed testing on Friday, and now I have no more issues, shame it had to come to this, >.< hopefully, they learn from it and can fix the issue for others.

  • At this point, if you're not cancelling your contract, exercising your consumer rights, then you probably shouldn't be surprised that Virgin aren't doing anything about it. I told them, fix it, or I cancel the contract. You are being invoiced for a service by a company, and if that service is not what you were promised, you are well within your rights to cancel and NOT pay them.

    We let companies get away with too much these days. It's time to take back your power, as a consumer.

  • Adding this for future reference, no issues atm 😛 ended up getting around £100+ in compensation (for multiple things) but mainly lack of communication being the major one.

    How did you become a 2Gig customer? I thought it was available in London but Virgin Media doesn't advertise it as an available product yet apparently

      Only available in xgs areas, they are upgrading all the hfc areas too, it just takes time.
