UGREEN NAS & HUB5

Anyone currently using a UGREEN NAS (I'm currently looking at the 4800+).

I've read of issues with the Virgin Hub 5 relating to setup and remote access in particular.

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I you are going to be running a NAS I would strongly advise you get your own router and run the VM hub in modem mode. All LAN transfers between local machine/s and NAS would then not pass through the underpowered VM equipment.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

      Any recommendations for a router?

Unfortunately I will not ever recommend kit I’ve not used and all the kit I’m involved with is high end business/corporate gear. My router cost £350 and does not have WiFi, it’s the real definition of a router.

If your looking to put everything on one LAN any home router with 1Gb ports or better will do but if your looking to do many LAN's with firewall and isolation you be looking at higher end kit like Zyxel FLEX H or Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Pro
