Still no 5x Modem Mode?

Sales rep and engineer both seemed to think I would be able to use my existing router with this newly  installed 5x hub.  I cannot. Is it just because my 2.40.13-2210.4 software needs updating?

Cancel the XGS-PON service if you can show it was misrepresented to you.

The reality is another year has passed and Hub 5x Modem mode is still not operational,
given the increasingly rare and ever more opaque words from VM,
hopes that modem mode will eventually be provided may prove to be unfounded.

Do not expect Tech Support to cancel your service - that is more than their life is worth.

I just got technical support to raise a complaint and now have a complaint number.  Technical support cannot say if the 5x will ever get modem mode. XGS-PON was installed last Friday and I have clearly stated to support that I wish to cancel as I was told modem mode was available.

You just have to double NAT VM are being stupid I guess they just want Statistics to see how many would like modem mode for fibre in 24/25 for their next hub.

it is said that modem mode works on the top 1Gb port

    Hub 5x WORKING modem mode : r/VirginMedia

I would put it past VM to balls up the firmware to not allow DHCP reply by broadcast which is why some found it to work and others not but windows does both types of DHCP for reply from so test that

Most TP-link routers go by reply by broadcast

It's a howler that the 10Gb port cannot be used for modem mode, so there's not much point bothering with it.

No, there is no modem mode.  If you have a 3rd party Router use it as an Access Point

**bleep** - I've been double-tapped with some VM BS. This 5x is awfully basic.
