Set timers for wi fi

I need to set timers via hub 5 settings but need access control not listed anymore? Tried to access hub today using 192.168.0.1 but won’t load?

Try using a network wifi scanner like FING to find out the network addresses used and your  router IP. Try 192.168.86.1.

  • If you have a Windows Computer, open up CMD (Command Line) and enter "ipconfig". Where it says "Default Gateway" (usualy ending in .0.0, .0.1, .1.0 or .1.1) will be the address to enter the hub settings. Sometimes the default gateway changes and this may have been what happens.

Ok. Once I get in how do I get access control to set timers? When I got in the other day it wasn’t there as understand virgin have removed this within latest firmware upgrades?

What exactly do you mean by setting timers? Like so that certain devices can't access the internet between certain hours of the day?

Found a tutorial online, try this

        1. Click the time in the bottom-right corner to open the system tray.
        2. Click the gear icon ⚙️ to open Settings.
        3. Go to Network > choose your Wi-Fi network.
        4. Scroll down and click Network again under your connected Wi-Fi.
        5. Look for the Gateway or Default Gateway IP address—this is your router’s IP.

It would be much wiser to educate on the acceptable use of the internet than trying to impose controls with a timer.  Mobiles revert to GSM Data the moment Wi-Fi goes off line so it is hardly an effective ploy.  Consider what happens at school when parents are not there to police the endless time & attention wasted on social media or on games.

Failing to access http://192.168.0.1 can be a couple of things.

    1)  a web browser that is configured to require and HTTPS only web page or one that is griping about HTTP and you just need to tell it to continue regardless.

    2) A VPN or Apple Relay or an Anti Virus Package that has a web proxy e.g. Norton causing the IP to appear outside of the LAN.

    3) a VM Hub in Modem mode would be at http://192.168.100.1

If I wanted parenting advice I would have asked for it! Not really for this forum!

It is often the unasked question that most needs to be addressed.

VM don't do parenting in this way they have (forced to do so) web safe so if you want timers you need to get your own hardware that can.
