No Pod and 500mbps upgrade makes everywhere else in house really low - 20mbps!

New contract taken out on 28/02/25 and agreed price of £68 for 500 mbps. After this was started the 500 only applied 1 metre away from the hub and everywhere else in my tiny house was rubbish. At my desk 26 mbps!! Queried this with online chat and finally agreed to send pod on 03/03/25. Now 31/03/25 no pod and being charged £72 not £68. I have this in writing agreement via chat as was promised for the £4 reduction otherwise I would've gone to Sky after the loyalty of being with Virgin for over 20 years seems to mean nothing!

Anyone else got any suggestions about how to sort this out apart from hours on the phone????

The speed quoted by VM for all their plans is only the speed RECEIVED by the hub. It is not the speed of WiFi devices. With VM pods they only guarantee a maximum speed of 40Mbps. The VM hubs have cheap WiFi radios and the only guaranteed way to get high WiFi speeds is to use other equipment, either a mesh system or Wireless Access Points. On my system I can get 2167Mbps on my LAN.

If you want to spend the least amount of time to get good speed look at getting a better wifi router with 1Gb ports and put hub in modem mode

  • Hey Candh0446, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear about your speeds.

How have they been over the last few days?

Is it only in certain places you are getting low speeds or is there everywhere?

Have you ever tried it on a cable connection?
