New customer with Deco 4 mesh

Help/advice needed. I’m a new customer having had my services installed 2 days ago, I’ve got 500mg broadband and tv package with hub 5 and already had a Deco m4 mesh system which was linked up to the hub by the engineer, first impressions, absolute wow!! Getting speeds of 550mgps downstairs only dropping to around 350-400 mgps upstairs. Today I decided to link the 2 networks into one using my VM network and set my hub to modem mode, that was the first mistake as I couldn’t switch on the tv box (even though it’s connected directly to the hub) so set it back to router mode. My WiFi speeds are now only around 130-150mgps. I thought a mesh system was supposed to improve WiFi speeds? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your TV must be connected to your router/mesh when in modem mode

The hub 5 wifi could be better for speed then you mesh units look for wifi 6 router/mesh

The Hub 5 is WiFi 6 ax protocol however the Deco is older and only WiFi 5 ac protocol.  So best to use the Hub 5 as the router and set the Deco nodes as Access Points. Use the same SSID and passwords for both the Hub and Deco.
