Netflix error - VPN or proxy error

Hi there

First post. Had VM for a week now and been watching Netflix each day during that period with no issues

Tonight my wife tries to watch a series she's binge watching and the error 'There's a problem. You seem to be using a VPN or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again. For more help, visit our Help Centre online'. I do not use a VPN or proxy and never had an issue with Netflix until I moved to VM

I've tried exiting the app and also resetting the router but the message is still there. When I open the app on my mobile phone I get the error as well so it's clearly something to do with the Virgin media broadband

Checked my IP address and it's the correct one

 can anyone help here 🙏

I'm getting this on everything. The app on VM TV, the app on my iPhone and also using a PC browser

Have tried what's my ip and it is my local address

Will contact Netflix with your suggestion

You could also ask https://whatismyipaddress.com/ to amend your location by clicking on the Update My IP Location under the map and following the onscreen instructions.

That site might update the location immediately but it can take a few days to filter through everywhere else.

Is this by PC or TV? try both

Check with a whats my IP to see if your in the UK

This is a Netflix problem not a VM problem its possible the WAN IP you are given was abused to get around Netflix location listing so you need to deal with Netflix.

For a quick fix get your own router and use hub in modem mode which might get you a cleaner IP.
