i am awaiting a media hub 5 for upgrading to the 1 gig connection.
can someone confirm I can definitely use this in modem mode? I have seen one report suggesting certain models of it cannot? I have a wired Ethernet setup with other routers and I do not want this changed.
Hub 4 and 5 for 1Gb co-ax connection can be used in modem mode.
Hub 5X with XGSPON fibre connection cannot be used in modem mode at this time.
So it depends on which VM connection is available at your property.
I’m currently M500 presumably with coaxial?
how do I know which hub5 they will send?
if they send 5x can I downgrade back to M500 using my wired mesh routers?
If you are on M500 and go to 1G, you will not be sent a Hub5x, it would be a Hub5 or even a Hub4.
