Lost connection with the internet

I'm currently using a Virgin Media 2ac hub which is set to modem mode which is connected to an Asus RT-AC5300.

I have no problems until recent  two days.. The RT-AC5300 will not connect to the internet at all.If you go into the AC 5300 interface it shows the message  ( your ISP DHCP does not function properly ). This message has just come up and no matter what I try the AC5300 can not assign a DCHP..

I thought a firmware update on the AC5300 was needed to fix some issues, but after update I am still having no luck connecting to the 2AC Hub.

The only reason I use the AC5300 in conjunction with the 2AC hub was it lost the 5ghz part of the Virgin Hub.

Has any one any ideas, as I have not altered anything as the set up was working fine until two days ago.

    What happens when you put the SH2 back to normal router mode?

    If its not working correctly then, call it in as a fault and get it replaced with a more up to date Hub3/4/5 - and then go back to modem mode with the new Hub

  • If you are still having issues try:

    • Unplugging the HUB from the Asus.
    • Plug in one wired device (Laptop or PC) to the HUB, then reboot the HUB.
    • Does the device get an internet connection? If it does make a note of the network adapter MAC address (https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/find-mac-address-windows-10).
    • Unplug the wired device and plug the HUB back into the Asus, then turn off the HUB from the mains.
    • Use the 'MAC Address' option in the Asus WAN settings to enter the device's MAC address.
    • Turn on the HUB.

      Thanks for the info you have given me. It is funny though, my contract  just had a few weeks to go before  renewal.Then this problem arrived. Since putting up this post and taking out another contract out, I've had no more problems with connecting to the Virgin hub. Funny That !!!!!

        Hey VEEMAN, thank you for reaching out and I am so sorry to hear about this.

        I have taken a look at our side and I can't see any major issues, how has your connection been over the last two days, any improvement or is it the same?
