Looking to move router to upstais

Hi All,

I'm looking to move the virgin hub from the front room to home office/pc room upstairs, would this be a non fault call out ?

Just looking for verification before I book an engineer.

Thanks.

Yes, £25 non fault call out fee.  However be aware the Hub's use co-ax cable (except the Hub 5X) , so this will need to be routed up to the other room.  You may have to think of the best way to do this as co-ax cable is not the easiest to run or hide.

    Yes would cost £25.

No DIY possible as you must use VM cables and have the tech rebalance power level.

Best alternative is to leave the Hub where it is an run an ethernet cable from the Hub up to the office (DIY job) and connect a switch and wireless access point.  Less good would be to get a good Mesh system or consider powerline adapters

      Hi Mdsaund,

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, as advised by Adduxi and jbrennand, a relocation is a chargeable 1 off £25 callout charge, this ensures the correct cable are used and any further issues are covered, please let me know if you would like to arrange this.

      Regards

      Paul.
