Large white box

Hi, when my virgin was in installed, they placed a large white box in the middle of my living room wall with x amount of cables coming from it. I haven't seen this in any friends or families houses who have virgin packages. Anyone tell me what these are and can they be relocated or taken out. It's hideous looking tbh
