Is high ping just the normal on VM?

I was "forced" to change to Virgin when they bought out Upp, while my speed is a bit faster than it was on Upp. The ping is way higher and I would rather have slightly slower speed than high ping to be honest. I was getting around 4-7ms ping on Upp but ever since Virgin was installed the ping is like 20-80ms depending on the site. It's legit the exact same line that Upp were using so is it something to do with how things work on VMS side?

    Once the test begins click on: Run full test to include: Latency, Jitter,Packet loss & Upload speed
