I received an email about having an older Hub...

"We’ve noticed you’ve got one of our oldest Hubs, either a Hub 1, Hub 2 or a Hub 2 AC.

Although they still work, they no longer receive security updates. The UK Government has updated the law about telecommunications networks and keeping you safe online, and we need to offer you a free Hub replacement."

...and a button to "Order now" a New Hub, but the button just takes me to the service status page. Any advice anyone?

But is it from VM or a way to get your login info?

I would say it's from VM as the oldest Hubs, either a Hub 1, Hub 2 or a Hub 2 AC don't appear to be listed as meeting the criteria for receiving security updates.

  • I too have just received a similar email this morning and when I clicked the button to order, same as you, it took me to the service status page.  I did contact Virgin Media and spoke to a very helpful chap who spoke to his superiors as they haven't been informed of such an email.  Actually I have Hub 3 apparently which works fine.  The guy asked me to forward the email to "phishing@virginmedia.com" as it could be a scam.
