Hub4 able to get full Gig1 speed

Hi,

I am considering upgrading from 260Mbit to Gig1.

I currently have a Hub4 - I see Gig1 mentions 1130Mbit/104Mbit Dl/Ul speeds. Is the Hub4 suitable for these speeds or do I need additional equipment?

I have wifi6 and 2.5Gig Network ports on equipment Id like to use to take advantage of the speed.

Thanks

  • The Hub 4 as you know only has 1Gb ports, so approx 940 meg.  You can however saturate the full speed over WiFi if using multiple clients.  I’m sure lots of users will be advising you to push for the Hub 5.

  • Thanks - at the moment I connect the Hub 4 to a wireless router for its additional VPN features. I'll look to push for the Hub5 when I ring up on Monday.

Ensure you have a copy of whatever is said in chats.

They will promise anything to get a sale.

  • At this moment in time, the adviser im on a chat is claiming the Hub4 RJ45 port will deliver the full 1130Mbit speed, or to use the wifi which will definately offer 1130mbit. Really?

Well there you go now, the Hub 4 1Gb ports can really exceed the laws of physics ....  😉  What a load of ******

  • Even if you get a Hub 5, unless your computer has a 2.5G network port or good Wifi6, you will probably still top out around 940mbps. The good news is a 2.5G card costs about £15 off Amazon, plugin and go and the standard network cable will still work and once all connected, you could end up with full 1200mbps connectivity.
