For 2.4GHz only use channels 1 or 6 or 11 at 20Mhz
For 5GHz try channels 36 or 44 at a bandwidth that suits your devices. - Steve1077On our wavelength
This is what I'm using

Hi Jbarr87
I haven't changed the settings on my hub 5 so they are set automatically by VM (screenshot below)
If you do want to make any changes then you need to open a browser and log into your hub 192.168.0.1 (or 192.168.100.1 if in modem mode) using the SSID and wifi settings password printed on a sticker on your hub
Advanced Settings > Wireless > Wireless Signal > click on Disable Channel Optimization at the bottom then click on Apply Changes.
Then beneath both the 5Ghz and 2.4GHz sections click on the manual button, and in the drop down box click on the channel number you want to change it to, then scroll down and click on Apply Changes.
(You could perform a search for an app such as wifi analyzer which tells you the strength of the channel you are connected on, and also shows other channels so you can decide if you want to change the channel number on your hub)

Just remember that although you can apply manual settings, the router has its own built in fixed limits to suit regulatory requirements. You can't override them.

Hi all, I have a problem. After changing channels it's saving it for 5 minutes and after it's coming back to channel 44 for 5ghz and 11 for 2.4ghz. Virgin customer service sent me another router but it's doing the same thing. Anyone have any fix for this bug om hub 3.0 because virgin media it's not listening or even helping....

Do you have the Connect app installed on any devices ?
- docgeorge89Tuning in
Yes I do, it should not be ?

Yet another reason why a lot of users run in modem mode with their own routers.
- docgeorge89Tuning in
I am actually thinking to do that, because I've been struggling with the vm wifi for over 6 months now

The Connect app ( even when closed ) will constantly try to force the VM Hub back into Smart Wi-Fi & Auto Channels. It has to be Uninstalled from all devices to prevent intrusion.

That actually worked. Can't believe that virgin media customer service or engineers they didn't know about this. Thank you very much! I really appreciate!
