I'm wondering how I can change my public IP with my virgin media router, I have the "Hub 3". I've seen other posts, and some say turn it off for 15 minutes, some say you can't, I'm not sure.
I do not have a separate modem, so I can't go into modem mode, is there anyway OTHER than dealing with virgin media support (which I've head can be quite tricky) to reset my public ipv4 address?

You don't / can't reset your Public IP by power cycling or resetting the VM Hub.
What have you done that you now find the need to change the Public IP ?
Might change if you leave your hub turned off for over a week and someone else gets you IP.
What you really need to look at is why you need to change it.
Get a VPN.
IP addresses get renewed every so often, maybe once a week but i'm not 100% sure. If your hub is on when they get refreshed you will keep your existing address, if the hub is off you will likely get a new one.
I had the same VM WAN IP for many months at a time.
I never had a DDOS attack, but then why would I? I never did anything to provoke one.
A change of Public IP may provide no place to hide if the VM host name for your a/c remains stable.
nslookup < Public IP > reveals the VM host name
nslookup < VM host name > and the current or any new IP is revealed.
Buy your own router with the HUB in modem mode.
I have an Asus that allows you to alter the WAN MAC address.
Just changed it and got a different Public IP.
You get a different WAN IP address for every device connected to the hub in modem mode as the DHCP server uses the MAC address to track and assign IP addresses. However this isn't practical to obtain a large number of IP addresses.

Online issues, gaming gets wild some times lol.
All I want to know is how to change it, then play a new game, so there is a 0% chance I can get ddosed again. I've never seen an ISP be so stubborn when it comes to changing an IP?
