High latency, low upload speed, and can't login to hub4

For the last 4 or 5 day, I've noticed high pings and when I checked thinkbroadband's BMQ I see this:

After rebooting the hub the pings drop back down as you can see from the start and end of the graph.

Also I can't login to the hub, I can get the status without logging in, but once I try logging in, thats it I can't access even the status page anymore until I reboot it again.

I've reset the hub to factory defaults by pressing the reset button on it for 15 seconds, and everyday I'm still getting the high latency and low upload speeds.  I tested with samknows realspeed and I get around 30mbit upload, I'm on the 1g package so this should be around 100mbit.  Download speeds dont seem to be affected though.

I've just rebooted the hub again so I'm able to get the status from it.  I did see that the Correcteds (Active Profile) was way higher than it is now before the reboot, like it was in the billions!

    You mean QAM64?

I guess someone is causing noise on the line dropping everyone to QAM8 and maxing out the bandwidth with limited bandwidth

The highest QAM I've seen on the upstream has been QAM32 when checking over the last few days.  Its back to QAM8 now, and I'm getting more and more corrected codewords, its almost up to 2billion now.

Uploads speeds have dropped and the BQM shows the latency again.

Hopefully someone from VM will see this and can get something sorted out.

I know the large number of corrected codewords on the 3.1 channel may look scary, but it is normal. That number cannot be used to troubleshoot.

And yes, let's hope someone at VM will take a look at that upstream. 🙂

AS per where gitty is heading:  My upstream D3.1 modulation is QAM128 (7 bits/symbol).  So your QAM32 and QAM8 are respectively 5 bits/symbol and 3 bits.  That (QAM8) could well cause blue on the BQM.  It's as if someone's turned on a noise generator in your locality during the bad hours.

Have you asked the neighbours if they have similar?

He is on the old firmware, which always shows QAM8, so we don't know for sure what modulation it uses. 🙂

        Hello padeath

Sorry to hear of the connection issues, we appreciate you raising this via the forums.

From checking there are definitely some issues with the Up Stream channels that will require a visit from an engineer. I will send you a Private Message to get some more details from you to assist. Check the envelope in the top right of the forum when signed in for the message.
