Getting a Hub 5

How do you get a Hub 5 ? I have called the support team only to be told that the Hub 5 has the same specs as my current Hub 4, which it does not as I just want the 2.5Gbps port to connect to my router to improve the overall speed of the 1Gig connection. 

The person who answered the call was not much help at all and just said I could not have one after it took them over 20 minutes to find something out. I would supply my own Cable Modem but I don't think they would allow that and they don't offer a Cable Modem only option. 

What do you have to do to get a Hub 5?

    Tricky really as technically the HUB 4 can provide full speed across all devices in router mode, so the scripts the 'helpdesk' follow would not take your request into consideration.

    Just keep asking is all you can do.

    Try at 8am when the lines open and you may get through to the UK offices.

      I will try and call at 8am and I hope to get someone in the UK as the Indian call centers are not very helpful and difficult to understand at the best of times.

    Currently, VM are prioritising the (limited) stock of Hub5's to new customers taking 1GB packages.   Existing customers are getting Hub4's - as you've discovered.  This policy is under continual review and should change when stocks of that Hub have built up sufficiently to issue them to all 1GB customers - but who knows when that will be.

    Some have been lucky and have got a Hub5 - often when a Tech arrives to fix a bad connection or faulty Hub and that is all they have in their van!

    Technically VM should not say 1Gb but then it like that with 2TB HDD not being 2TB or MBR being limited to 2TB so VM see 1Gb ports as 1GB speed when VM go faster then 1Gb then their will be a problem when someone wants to download full 1.5Gb one device with a 2.5Gb NIC or better.

      It doesn't state anywhere that a user will see full speed to one device, so technically VM can say '1Gb' as much as they want.
