So I just got my new broadband installed and I used the port on the hub that is for 10 Gig but I'm only getting 5 gig on speedtests and less than that on wifi, any ideas?

VM don't supply a 5 Gig subscription.
no i have no solutioin but the 5 gig work fine its the 10 gig that is the problem.

Virgin Media offer up to 2 Gig up and down if you are on the FTTP network.

door to door sales said it would be the top speed the hub could do so i just wanna make sure im getting what im meant to be getting etc
The 10Gbps port of the hub 5X is its capacity and so is easily capable of handling VM's maximum download speed of 1Gbps (or 2Gbps in nexfibre's areas). Only a few ISPs (not in UK) provide 10Gbps and then typically only for business and high-demand home users.
yeah all good in my account it says gig5 so must be what it is and not 10 gig after all. but the hub does have a 10 gig port.
Oh, the 10GbE port on the Hub is the maximum it can handle, your contract 5Gb/s in the case is the reason you're seeing the speed test top out.
Assuming you're on the Beta since it's 5Gb/s?
I don't know anything about beta but in my account it says Gig5 so it must all be correct and the port on the hub is for the future etc
