Frequent network crashes - Media Hub4 and Netgear Orbi 960 - help please?!

I have a Virgin Media Hub 4 1gb connection running in modem mode.  I have a Netgear Orbi 960 with two satellites.  The main router is wired directly into the Hub.  The two satellites are wired into the primary Netgear Orbi router.   Wifi speeds are excellent throughout the whole three storey house but we have terrible stability issues.  The entire wifi network frequently crashes (with no obvious trigger) with connections lost on all connected devices.  This requires a complete reboot (Hub, Orbi and sattelites) but then will happen again.  Any advice or ideas on what might be causing this appreciated.

See if it happens with just a PC to hub in modem mode

  • Happy to do that can you help me understand what that is testing for - whether the problem is with the virgin hub or with the orbis?

It’s often not a hub problem, but a circuit one.

Setup a Broadband Quality Monitor and post a link to your live graph. It monitors your connection 24/7 and provides diagnosis of any underlying issues

      Also provide some circuit stats:

How to get stats from a VM hub (no need to logon to the hub)

Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 router mode or 192.168.100.1 modem mode

      • Click on the “> Check router status” button
      • Click on the “Downstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply, do not take a screen shot
      • Click on the “Upstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply
      • Click on the “Networking” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply.
        • Do NOT post photos or screen shots they will be rejected as they contain MAC addresses. The board software will automatically change MAC addresses to **:** if done as above.
  • Hi - I have exactly the same problem, did you manage to get it sorted?

Please raise a separate post, difficult to answer two at once when the solution may be different. Also please provide more information about your setup.
