I have a security camera in my shed with a very weak connection. There’s also a pod in the shed, but instead of connecting to it, the camera connects to the hub in the house over 20 feet away. Is there a way to get the camera to connect to the pod?
AFAIK there is no management software for the Pods that allows such granular control.
Try rebooting the camera, moving the pod slightly or temporarily turning off the Hub’s 2.4 GHz band so the camera has to join the pod. Once it’s connected, you can turn 2.4 GHz back on.
If you have a white pod and if the shed has power, try a powerline adapter instead which might well be far superior in producing a Wi-Fi signal especially if the shed and the house share the same ring circuit, the same breaker and the same phase.
The VM Pod needs to come out of the shed
this is not the right placement.
That the CCTV connects to the VM Hub reveals the
VM Pod is working so poorly the CCTV direct to Hub Wi-Fi
is a better link.
VM Pods must always be in a position where there is a decent
signal from the VM Hub. i.e. a lot closer to the VM Hub,
perhaps in the house on the side facing the shed.
If there was a decent signal I wouldn't need the pods.
As @Client62 has explained, the Pod must be in a place where it gets a good signal. It is a repeater - it only passes on some of the signsl that it receives. In the shed it only receives the same weak signal as your devices are receiving, so they naturally ignore the Pod and connect directly to the Hub.
