Clarification on full fiber and 360 box

I referred a friend to virginmedia who had it installed yesterday, however he sent me a picture that the installers was installing full fiber and was worried that the 360 box wouldn't work.

Which to my knowledge you cant have a 360 box on full fiber as not compatible, any i advised him to speak with the engineers and they told him they have a workaround.

Anyway he came back to me and said they have got the 360 box working on a full fiber connection.

So why are we been told you cannot 360 box if you have or getting full fiber ? When my friend has it

Full fibre meaning XGS-PON and a Hub 5x usually TV streaming only over internet. The give away for this is the Hub 5x has a fibre optic cable directly connected to it and a metal 10 Gbps network port.

Or full fibre meaning RFoG where now the ONT is internal to the home and there is coax from it to a VM Hub 3/4/5 and a 360 box would supported ?

This is RFoG with an internal ONT that is in the pictured white box.

This replaced the external OMNI box ONT installation that we have from late 2017, but functionally and electrically they are identical.

The plus is when it comes time the convert to XGS-PON the fibre cable is already inside the home.   Also the ONT is not subject to winter weather.
