Can I have my Router moved or an alternate way of getting wifi pods

I've been having wifi issues on my ps5 recently and want to improve its connection so want to have an ethernet connection but the router is currently at the other end of the house & downstairs, I was wondering if this could be installed upstairs in the bedroom so I can wire it directly to the router or an alternative could be the wifi pods i see offered for free but can never seem to claim. I do the tests on the app but it says my connection to my bedroom is great (its obviously not if im having issues) so have never been able to claim the pods as i imagine they get offered if the tests come back poor.

  • +1 for above.  However the cost to relocate the Hub is £25 for the non fault callout.  Note, this will involve running a co-ax cable up to the bedroom.  You could run an ethernet cable to the same room yourself, much better than any Wifi solution.

VM Pods are Wi-Fi Repeaters, hence they will at each hop at least halve the Wi-Fi speed, reduce your connection to half duplex and add a bucket load of Latancy and Jitter.

Just about the last thing needed for the PS5 gamester experience.

  • Hi MacauleyBrown22,

Thank you for your post. If you would like a WiFi pod order or a hub relocation arranged we can certainly look to arrange this.

Please do let us know if you would like either of these.

Consider a pod connected by Ethernet cable to the hub. You get the benefits of wired backhaul and a pod which is effectively a wireless access point. You get WiFi from both the pod and hub, so think carefully about moving the hub and leaving behind a WiFi black hole.
