Broadband connection keeps dropping

Hi 

A couple of weeks ago I started having wifi issues. It would drop in the middle of a Zoom call, and be gone for 6=7 minutes. Now it is happening more frequently. So I started using DLink powerline adapters to see if a wired connection would help. It did speed up, but I am still experiencing drops. So I switched then to an ethernet connection - and that is also dropping although speed tests are indicating 500 MB download speed.  It always drops when on a Zoom call.

A month or so ago, I installed a mesh system to try and boost wifi to remote parts of the house (not my office). Could my installation of this have caused a knock on issue on my broadband reliability?

    Is this specific to Zoom calls?  That is - are all other connections stable on wifi and/or ethernet connections?

    What make/model of Mesh did you get?

    Have you put the VM Hub into modem mode ?

  • Thank you for your reply. Yes it tends to always occur when on a Zoom call. And now on every Zoom call. All other connections are more stable - not perfect, but not noticeably lacking resilience. I bought the TP Link Dec E4R

    I havent put the VM Hub into modem mode - but can do?

      Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.

      Sorry to hear about the increased drops in your connection.

      Can we ask if you've been able to test the Hub in modem mode since your last post?

      What I'll do anyway is send you a private message to pass security. Once this has been passed I can take a look to see if anything else is affecting your service.

      If you can check your logo at the top right of your screen that would be great.

  • Hi Gareth - have replied. Apologies for my delay. I have a Hub 2.0 and when I log into settings I do not see an option to enter modem mode. Do I need to set this with an agent?
