Area 21, services going off 10pm – back on 8am every night with no fix date.

Since the 6th January, customers in area 21 have had their services go off at 10pm and go back on at 8am in the morning. An Engineer informed me that SSE has to replace the power to the cabinet. While Virgin waits for SSE to do that, there is a man sitting in a Virgin van next to the cabinet switching on the power for the Broadband/TV at 8am and switching it off at 10pm when he goes home.

Unfortunately Virgin Media customer services do not inform the many customers in area 21 that phone to complain about the problem. It remains a mystery to VM customers until they log into a private local Facebook group to find out that the cause of the 10pm – 8am curfew is a man sitting in a Virgin van turning the internet on and off every day.

There is no fix date for SSE to replace the power to the cabinet. In the meantime Virgin Media sends out text updates to say the problem has been fixed when it clearly isn't and they know it.

It can’t be too difficult for a communication company like Virgin to let customers know on the phone or website what the truth is and why one of their staff has been sitting in a van for 2 weeks switching folks computer on and off at 8am and 10pm.
