O2 Volt Speed Boost

Hello,

I've just upgraded my O2 mobile contract today and they did boost my data plan to double the GB a month which I'm pleased with.

Also, they say they will boost my current broadband speed (365MB) to the next speed level (516MB) within fourteen days. My only concern is that I may not be able to get it for some reason or am I worried too much about it?

Kind regards

  • Hi BOR,

Thank you for your post. We can assure you it is nothing to worry about.

If for any reason you cannot be moved to the higher speed then you would remain on what you are.

Why is it you don't feel you will be able to get it?

  • I don't know.

I am on M350, but I read some posts in this forum that you can only have a boost once? So it means I'm stuck on M350 no matter if I upgrade my mobile contract and get the Volt benefits, but it won't work at all. It's what I fear.

  • Not only Volt Benefits. The offer is showing on my account and I want to press to enter the deal to see what it  takes me to, but it doesn't work at all. Stuck on the page.

Lately, I found the overall of the service has been very frustrating and confusing. It's unclear how they work or provide the service. It's utterly messy.

  • Tomorrow it'll be 14 days since I've upgraded my mobile contract with the O2 and nothing is informing me that my broadband speed has been boosted up yet. I knew that I did fear I wouldn't get it at all.

Even the staff members of the O2 and Virgin Media were 100% reassured that I would get it.

    Can anyone advise me?

  • Well... It's now 14 days. No speed boost for my broadband from you and what's the reason why I didn't qualify for it? I'm truly disappointed as I was promised to get it by the O2 and Virgin Media staff members.

  • I've contacted Virgin live chat about this situation, and they told me to contact O2. Whilst I explained the issue to O2, and they told me to contact Virgin Media. What's going on with both sides of the communication?! It's embarrassing. Can anyone help me out?

The broadband boost should be applied by VM, not O2.  It is usually 14 days after getting the O2 SIM.  However the name and address for both contracts have to be exactly the same, or the computer says no.

If you wait here a day or two, as VM Mod should pick this up and check and discuss directly with you.  However, if you have already been Volted, you will not get doubled again.

Glad to hear the advice has helped BOR.

If it goes over the 14 working days time limit do let us know.

It's been over 14 days now, (19 days now).

Like I said I feared I won't get a boost cos I'm already boosted somehow. Yet my current contract I pay for M350 and surely it will boost up to M500?

        Much appreciated.
