V6 recording problems

My recordings are pixilated and stutters l. This is getting progressively worse. Live TV channels all good and so is streaming. Wondering if the hard drive is giving up? V6 box is pretty old now. Any advice ?

Try pausing a live TV channel for a short time and watch it delayed. This is also a recording and uses the hard drive.

This will confirm if the problem is the HDD.

      Hi ratattat

      Welcome to the Community Forums.

Sorry to hear of your recording concerns.

Can you try resetting the set-top box to see if this resolves the issue?

If not, then we'd need to replace the set-top box through an engineer visit, however, we cannot guarantee that the engineer would be able to replace with a V6.

To factory reset the set-top box, go to Settings > System > Factory Reset and choose "Keep Recordings". This will reset the box's settings without deleting your saved recordings.

Keep us posted with how you get on.

There's nothing inherently wrong with a V6 being 8years old, much like any computer hardware.

But if your live TV is fine, and delayed/paused TV is problematic, that's a very good sign of HDD issues that can't be repaired.

If you need a replacement V6, be sure they don't 'upgrade' you to a 360 unless you understand and choose that instead.
