V6 box recordings stuttering and interference

One of my  v6 box decided to do a full reboot by itself at 11pm and I also got some blue screen message saying it was checking itself for errors may take 3 hours but took about 20 mins ( It deleted all the previous recordings !). Since then any recording of bbc1 is full of stuttering and interference.  I have not checked every other channel  for recording  but happened to be watching the challenge channel and recorded a program and that playback seemed ok.  Do I need a new box or an engineer visit ? Thx I  have tried several days now n bbc1 and always the same  S 

  • Was this a green-screen "DVR has detected an error" by any chance? If so, that's a warning that your V6's hard drive has failed. That you're now getting errors on recordings is of no surprise, and a further failure will only be a matter of time.

    You will need a tech visit, and they should replace your V6

  • Yes that’s was the screen and the message.  Will I have to go round the houses for a replacement or will they agree immediately and arrange the tech visit and replacement at everyone’s earliest opportunity  S
