V6 box constant reboot loop

Tonight I changed channels to 501 and a brief message came up saying channel couldn’t be found or something like that with a totally black screen. The box then rebooted itself and eventually came up with the green screen saying it has detected an issue and will try to repair.

That green screen only stayed there for about 10 seconds and it rebooted again. I left it for a while and it just kept repeating this reboot loop, so I’ve unplugged it and moved the kitchen box into the lounge.

Is it worth trying anything else with the rebooting box tomorrow or is it terminal?

The green "DVR has detected an error" message unfortunately indicates HDD failure and means box replacement. On the odd occasion the drive recovers, another failure will only be a matter of time.

Call it in, or wait on here for a response - depending how urgent it is to you

  • Thanks for the reply. I left it unplugged over night and then tried it again this morning and left it for 2 hours and it is still stuck in the same reboot loop with the green screen on staying there for about 10 seconds before it reboots again. I think it is knackered and I need it replacing

  • I’ve just called customer services and have booked an engineer for this coming week. I was amazed at how quickly my call was answered, I expected to be in a queue for ages with it being a Sunday

  • So I have had my box replaced today and hopefully things will be OK going forwards.

As a matter of interest, why is it that every time I've had someone come round to replace a broken box, they've had to go upstairs and fiddle around with the back of my router as well? He mentioned something about an attenuator but I'm not convinced anything was needed and the last person who was here probably 6 months ago to replace the other box did the same.

As per the question. They have said they are tweaking my signal and making it better but why should it need constantly tweaking? The engineer who replaced my previous broken box 6 months ago did it and the one yesterday also did it.

        Hi jgnotts

It shouldn't need constantly tweaking but if we do ever need to send an engineer, they'd always check the signals.

Glad to see it seems sorted, keep us posted should you need further help.
