Unable to control v6 BOX with LG magic remote

I have the LG C2 TV with the LG magic remote model number mr22gn and I cannot get it to control my V6 set top box. I've been through the pairing via the tv and it's tried several options but none of them work. 

I spoke with LG support and they said it's likely because Virgin Media aren't sharing the latest remote codes with LG. Has anyone else got this to work yet with this model of remote?

    Iwas able to add the virgin set top 360 box as Ziggo and its works great. Cheers twigmale

      This video just tells you to go through the same setup I have been through a whole bunch of times but it doesn't work. Also, the c2 has a slightly different menu system than the onesone  and I also haved a slightly different remote to the one shown. So I'm guessing it's a newer model as I only got it a week or two ago which probably means the codes of different, but just not working.

        Welcome back, thanks for posting.

        I am sorry for any issues with your remote.

        Unfortunately, we as a team are unable to help with 3rd party devices.

        I would suggest going on to the LG Forums, then seeing is anyone else is having this issue.

    Hi

    just gotten the LG C255 too and facing the same issues in using the majic remote with virgin v6.

    I can get it to control the volume, but not change channels etc. we’re you able to get it working fully?

    thx for any advice.

      Nope - never had this working.  VM say it is an LG issue, and LG say it is a VM issue, so I don't expect it to get fixed anytime soon

        I have an lg c2 and V6 in London.  I managed to get ziggo to work just then - but had struggled earlier

    I got my LG C2 remote to control the Virgin box by manually choosing Ziggo in the Universal Remote set up.

    Hi

    just had this exact problem all afternoon with my virgin box and sound bar. I was just about to give up and order a one for all remote when I finally worked it out (I feel stupid but I blame the way it’s worded ok the set up). So go to General>External Devices>universal control settings>select/tixk HDMI 1 (or whichever hdmi virgin box is in)> select Manage Settings at bottom>then don’t select the virgin that auto appears, go to where says find service (this stops the auto complete you mentioned you kept getting in your screen grab) and then select the virgin from within there/the list of providers. It then asks you to press ‘P^’ and this is where I kept going wrong as I was just pressing P^ on the magic remote! what you actually need to do is select and press ok on the white ‘P^’ button that’s on the left side of the preview screen-the virgin preview on right should then change channel, then on the left it will ask ‘did that work?’  And white ‘yes’ and ‘no’ buttons appear. Select yes if it did and then repeat the same when says select ‘menu’ (white button to left half of screen) and then the preview virgin screen on right should change/show you the virgin menu screen). Just repeat same process for any other things it asks then boom you’re all set up. Embarrassing putting this on here but I like to think I’m normally on the ball with this kind of thing so if I misread /misunderstood it then maybe others have/will. Anyway hope that all makes sense and gets you and anyone else struggling set up. 

    NOTE: you do the same on Optical option for any sound bar

      This is the right answer. Once again my remote stopped working with the TiVo box and once again I found this answer and it got the remote working again. I hope this stays forever because it doesn't look like the bug will be fixed..

    These don't work for me. Tried clicking the pr^ on screen and no luck, tried ziggo and it can't be found. So still not working for me

    Unfortunately i think you have missed the point of this thread.  This is about getting the LG remote working with the V6 box, and not about pairing the Virgin remote to anything
