The DVR has detected a serious problem and is now attempting to fix it

Hi,

I had the infamous green screen message above with the usual spiel i have seen others say "leave for 3 hours" etc....

My TV has come back on and "appears" normal, but is this just likely to be temporary and is the beginning of the end?

Do I still report it even though I no longer have the green screen or the message?

TIA

Ian

The green screen indicates hard drive failure, so you've been very lucky with the box recovering.

I will be very surprised if the fix is anything other than temporary.

  • Hi mollymootuppenc,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

We're sorry to hear you were having issues with your set top box. As mentioned by japitts, once the green screen comes on, it's usually a case of a replacement box being needed. As it's recovered for now, we'll leave things as it is. If you experience the fault again though, pop back and let us know so we can help further.

    Thanks,

      Hi Kath,

Rather than me waiting for the inevitable and then being without a box/tv, am I able to get it replaced now as it sounds like it is only a matter of time before it dies. Since it came back on, it has been turning itself off and on regularly which it never did previously

Thanks for coming back to us mollymootuppenc, and we're sorry to hear of the set top box rebooting itself on it's own accord since the recent green screen has appeared.
