Pressing Info button on catchup?

Hi everyone,

Just discovered that if I press the info button on the remote whilst starting to stream from catchup, that does a hard reset on the box?
Is that normal behaviour?
I ask, as the display does not show full info, so was trying to see all of it.

    Hi WelshGasman 👋.

    Thanks for reaching out to us, the i button on the remote should not perform a hard reset of the TV box, this is part of a sub menu and confirmation in order to perform a hard reset. The "i" is for informational purposes, so if you are on a program or a function it will tell you more about it. 

    If you are seeing different, please can you share an image of this.

      Hi Sabrina,

      As I mentioned, I have it only occur when streaming on Catchup.
      I have tested it 3 times and each time I get a hard reset.
      I  now know that I have to remember what I am watching before trying it. It works as it should for TV programs. However it has been a habit over the years when you do not get all of the summary for a program.
      Try it yourself, if you have a V6. I do not think it matters what program you are streaming, but for completeness I was watching Seal Team.

        I have just tried to replicate this on two different catch-up programmes on my V6 box .  Pressing the Info button simply brings up the programme information as one would expect.  No hard reset here.

    Are you pressing INFO during catch‑up startup? If so you cause the catch‑up initialisation process to crash and reboot (so not actually a reset).

      I get No Signal on the TV and then the Welcome in all the languages when it does this?

  • Yes, it is your remote.
    Just went to test it out again, and look closely as to when I select info.
    Went to Series 3 EP 17 and started to play. Box rebooted itself, after a fleeting glimpse of an advert. I had not even pressed info this time. :-)
    However the Welcome screen appeared quite quickly this time, whereas previously it took a while to appear.

  • Cannot get it to do it anymore, no matter where I press info. :-(
